Description

A recipe for crispy air fryer falafel bites, perfect for a healthy snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Oil spray for air frying

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas.
  2. Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls or patties.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Lightly spray the falafel with oil.
  7. Arrange falafel in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  8. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  9. Remove and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with tahini sauce or yogurt dip.
  • For a spicy kick, add cayenne pepper to the mixture.
  • These can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
