Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 pounds)
- Butter – 1 cup, softened
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder – 1 tablespoon
- Onion powder – 1 tablespoon
- Thyme – 2 teaspoons, dried
- Rosemary – 2 teaspoons, dried
- Stuffing – 1 box (about 12 ounces)
- Green beans – 1 pound, trimmed
- Cranberry sauce – 1 can (14 ounces)
- Mashed potatoes – 5 pounds
- Gravy – 2 cups
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing butter all over it.
- Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
- Stuff the turkey with the stuffing mix.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, removing the foil in the last hour for browning.
- While the turkey cooks, boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with butter and milk.
- Steam the green beans until bright green.
- Heat the cranberry sauce and gravy in separate pots.
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve all dishes on a large table for guests to enjoy.
