Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add salt and oil to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
- Let it cool before slicing.

- For a richer flavor, use butter instead of oil.
