Description
A sweet, braided bread filled with apple and cinnamon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Heat milk and butter until warm; add to dry ingredients.
- Add eggs and mix until dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Mix apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar in a bowl.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out.
- Spread apple mixture over the dough.
- Roll the dough and braid it.
- Place in a greased loaf pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Best served warm.
