- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and whisk for 1 minute.
- Gradually add the milk, whisking until smooth.
- Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Add salt, pepper, and paprika to the cheese sauce.
- Combine the macaroni with the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add cooked bacon or vegetables.
- Use different cheeses for variety.
