Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups stuffing (optional)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Season the turkey with salt and black pepper inside and out.
  5. Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, celery, and fresh herbs.
