This is the best turkey recipe for a moist Thanksgiving feast.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups stuffing (optional)
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
- Season the turkey with salt and black pepper inside and out.
- Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, celery, and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
- Roast for 2.5 to 3 hours, removing foil in the last hour to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

- Brining the turkey overnight can enhance moisture.
