A rich and decadent black forest cheesecake that combines the flavors of chocolate, cherries, and cream cheese for a delightful dessert.

- 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups cherry pie filling
- 2 oz dark chocolate, shaved
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Mix chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter in a bowl.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in sour cream until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cheesecake batter over the crust in the springform pan.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
- Remove from oven and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Before serving, whip heavy cream to soft peaks and spread over the top of the cheesecake.
- Top with cherry pie filling and shaved dark chocolate.
Notes
- For a stronger chocolate flavor, use chocolate ganache on top.
- Experiment with different fruit toppings like raspberries or strawberries.
- Serve with a dusting of cocoa powder for presentation.
