- 2 ribeye steaks, 1 inch thick
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the spice blend generously over both sides of the steaks.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until smoking hot.
- Add vegetable oil to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.
- Carefully place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes without moving.
- Flip the steaks and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
