  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, mix paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Rub the spice blend generously over both sides of the steaks.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until smoking hot.
  5. Add vegetable oil to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.
  6. Carefully place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes without moving.
  7. Flip the steaks and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
  8. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
