Description

Brown sugar pop tart cookies are sweet, flaky treats filled with a brown sugar cinnamon mixture.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
  6. Roll out the dough and cut into rectangles.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling and place on half the rectangles.
  8. Cover with remaining rectangles and seal the edges.
  9. Brush with milk and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Let cool, then mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle on top.
