A flavorful butter rub for turkey, perfect for Thanksgiving.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, zested

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with herbs, garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon zest.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  4. Gently loosen the skin of the turkey breast.
  5. Spread half of the butter mixture under the skin and the other half over the skin.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
  7. Roast the turkey for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
