A flavorful butter rub for turkey, perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, zested
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter with herbs, garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon zest.
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Gently loosen the skin of the turkey breast.
- Spread half of the butter mixture under the skin and the other half over the skin.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
- Roast the turkey for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Store any leftover butter rub in the refrigerator for later use.
- Adjust herbs to your preference.
