Description

Candied orange peel is a sweet treat made from the outer peel of oranges.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash the oranges thoroughly.
  2. Peel the oranges, taking care to keep the white pith.
  3. Cut the peels into thin strips.
  4. Boil the strips in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  5. In a pot, combine sugar and water, and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the orange peels to the syrup and simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the peels and place them on a wire rack to cool.
  8. Once dry, roll the peels in sugar.
