A savory tart made with caramelized onions and butternut squash.
Ingredients

- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 2 cups butternut squash, diced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1/2 cup goat cheese, crumbled
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- In a separate pot, steam butternut squash until tender, about 10 minutes.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place it on a baking sheet.
- Spread the caramelized onions over the pastry.
- Add the steamed butternut squash on top.
- Sprinkle with thyme and goat cheese.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Use fresh thyme for better flavor.
- Ensure squash is tender before adding to the tart.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
