Description

A traditional Chinese New Year dish made from glutinous rice flour, symbolizing good luck and prosperity.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red bean paste
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Mix glutinous rice flour and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add water gradually and stir until smooth.
  3. Pour half the mixture into a greased steaming dish.
  4. Add red bean paste on top of the batter.
  5. Cover with remaining batter.
  6. Steam for 30-40 minutes until cooked.
  7. Let cool, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use a bamboo steamer for best results.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Serve with sesame seeds sprinkled on top.
