Description

A selection of traditional Chinese New Year snacks.


Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour – 500g
  • Water – 300ml
  • Red bean paste – 200g
  • Sesame seeds – 100g
  • Peanuts – 100g
  • Cooking oil – for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix glutinous rice flour and water to form a dough.
  2. Divide the dough into small balls.
  3. Flatten each ball and fill with red bean paste.
  4. Shape the filled dough back into balls.
  5. Roll the balls in sesame seeds and crushed peanuts.
  6. Heat cooking oil in a pan.
  7. Fry the balls until golden brown.
  8. Drain excess oil and serve warm.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  • These snacks can be made ahead of time.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less red bean paste.
