A rich and creamy chocolate mousse dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200g dark chocolate
- 3 eggs, separated
- 50g sugar
- 300ml heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale.
- Add melted chocolate and vanilla to egg yolk mixture and mix well.
- Gently fold in the egg whites.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and fold into the chocolate mixture.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Notes
- Use high-quality dark chocolate for best flavor.
- Make sure the bowl for egg whites is clean and dry.
- Can be topped with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.
