Ingredients

- 8 slices of bread, cubed
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 cup of diced bell peppers (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and cheese.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread mixture and stir to combine.
- If using, fold in the diced bell peppers.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is set.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can prepare this casserole the night before and refrigerate it.
- Add cooked vegetables for extra flavor.
- Top with fresh herbs before serving for a festive touch.
