Instructions

  2. Stir until sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil without stirring.
  3. Use a candy thermometer to monitor temperature until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  5. If desired, add food coloring and mix well.
  6. Pour onto a greased baking sheet and let cool.
  7. Once cooled, break into pieces and decorate with candy sprinkles.
