- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, and salt over medium heat. Stir until combined.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Pour the hot toffee over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
- Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces and serve.
