Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
  5. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 3 minutes.
  6. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  9. Let chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread evenly.
  10. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if using.
  11. Cool completely, then break into pieces.
