A festive treat combining toffee with crunchy crackers.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 3 minutes.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if using.
- Cool completely, then break into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Try using different types of chocolate.
- Can substitute butter with margarine.
