Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  7. Divide the batter into two bowls and add red food coloring to one and green to the other.
  8. Spoon alternating colors into cupcake liners.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool completely before decorating.
  11. Frost with buttercream and add decorations.
