Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
  3. Rub the turkey with butter and season with salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Stuff the turkey cavity with onions, celery, and carrots.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
  6. Cover with foil and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  7. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
