A traditional dessert enjoyed during Christmas celebrations.
Ingredients

- 200g dried mixed fruit
- 100g raisins
- 100g currants
- 50g chopped almonds
- 100g brown sugar
- 200g breadcrumbs
- 100g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 150ml milk
- 50ml brandy
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix all the dried fruits, nuts, and sugar.
- Add breadcrumbs, flour, mixed spice, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and brandy.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Grease a pudding basin and pour in the mixture.
- Cover with parchment paper and foil.
- Steam for 2 hours in a pot of simmering water.
- Remove and let it cool.
- Serve warm with custard or cream.
Notes
- Can be made a few weeks in advance.
- Store in a cool, dark place.
- Reheat by steaming before serving.
