Description

A festive twist on the classic tiramisu, perfect for Christmas celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until smooth.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan, then slowly add to the egg mixture.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring, until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat, let cool, then fold in mascarpone and vanilla.
  5. In another bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks.
  6. Gently fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture.
  7. Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish.
  8. Dip ladyfingers briefly in coffee mixture and layer in a dish.
  9. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers.
  10. Repeat layers, ending with mascarpone on top.
  11. Dust with cocoa powder and nutmeg.
  12. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit coffee liqueur.
  • Use decaffeinated coffee if desired.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings for extra flair.
