Description
A sweet and crunchy Christmas toffee treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and water.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture reaches a hard crack stage (300°F).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour toffee onto a lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let them melt.
- Spread melted chocolate evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Let cool completely and break into pieces.

- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be made ahead of time for holiday gifting.
