A classic Christmas turkey recipe for your holiday feast.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 cups stuffing mix
- 1 cup chopped fresh herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix butter, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture under the skin of the turkey.
- Fill the turkey cavity with stuffing and herbs.
- Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
- Roast for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil in the last hour to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Make sure the turkey is fully thawed before cooking.
- You can use store-bought or homemade stuffing.
- Adjust cooking time based on the turkey weight.
