Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs, water, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  6. Spread the batter evenly on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until springy to the touch.
  8. Remove from the oven and invert onto a clean kitchen towel.
  9. Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool.
  10. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  11. Unroll the cooled cake, spread whipped cream, and roll again.
  12. Decorate with chocolate shavings and serve.
