- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using a mixer, beat the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add salt, vanilla, and eggs; mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- For a different flavor, try adding nuts or using dark chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
