A deliciously satisfying classic burger with grilled onions and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 Whataburger beef patties
  • 2 slices of Texas toast
  • 2 slices of American cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grilled onions
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of Texas toast.
  3. Place one slice of bread butter-side down on the skillet.
  4. Layer one beef patty on the bread.
  5. Add a slice of cheese and half of the grilled onions on top of the patty.
  6. Place the second beef patty on top of the onions.
  7. Add the second slice of cheese and the remaining onions.
  8. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  9. Cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook the other side.
  10. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
