Ingredients

- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat, add heavy cream and stir until combined.
- Add chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Toss in the cooked fettuccine and mix well to coat the pasta with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and additional basil if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute fettuccine with any pasta of your choice.
- Add cooked chicken or shrimp for added protein.
- For a vegan version, use coconut cream and omit cheese.
