Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat, add heavy cream and stir until combined.
  6. Add chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Toss in the cooked fettuccine and mix well to coat the pasta with the sauce.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and additional basil if desired.
