Description

Crispy potstickers are a delicious Asian dumpling filled with savory ingredients and pan-fried to achieve a golden, crunchy exterior.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup shredded cabbage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour and water to form a dough. Knead until smooth, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix ground pork, green onions, cabbage, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll the dough into a log and cut into small pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. Fold and pleat the edges to seal.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place potstickers in the skillet and fry until golden brown.
  6. Add a splash of water to the skillet and cover to steam for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and let them crisp for an additional 2 minutes. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, substitute ground pork with finely chopped mushrooms or tofu.
  • You can add other vegetables like carrots or bell peppers to the filling.
  • Serve with soy sauce or vinegar for dipping.
