Description

Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Let the loaf rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Score the top of the loaf and place it in the oven.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
- Use a pizza stone for a better crust.
- Store bread in a paper bag to keep it fresh.
