Description

A rich custard bread pudding served with a smooth vanilla sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups of bread cubes
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the bread cubes to the mixture and stir until well coated.
  4. Let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  5. Grease a baking dish with melted butter.
  6. Transfer the bread mixture to the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until set and golden brown.
  8. While baking, prepare the vanilla sauce.
  9. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch over medium heat.
  10. Stir until it thickens and add vanilla extract.
  11. Serve the bread pudding warm with vanilla sauce on top.
