This easy air fryer falafel wraps recipe combines crispy falafel with fresh vegetables and a tangy sauce in a soft wrap.


Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray
  • 4 whole wheat wraps
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tahini sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, flour, salt, and pepper. Pulse until mixture is well combined but still slightly chunky.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls or patties.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
  5. Place the falafel in the basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching.
  6. Spray the tops of the falafel with olive oil.
  7. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the falafel cooks, prepare the wraps by placing lettuce, tomato, and cucumber on each wrap.
  9. Once the falafel is cooked, place 2-3 pieces on each wrap.
  10. Drizzle with tahini sauce and wrap tightly.
  11. Serve immediately.

  • For added spice, include chopped jalapeño in the falafel mixture.
  • Try using different herbs like mint or dill for variation.
  • Serve with yogurt sauce or hot sauce for extra flavor.
