Saltine toffee is a sweet and salty dessert made with saltine crackers, toffee, and chocolate.

- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it boils.
- Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Cool completely and break into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- You can use different types of chocolate.
- For a more intense flavor, add a pinch of sea salt on top.
