Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced

- Potatoes – 5 lbs
- Milk – 1 cup
- Cheddar cheese – 2 cups, shredded

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs under the skin.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cook for 3-4 hours.
- Peel and chop the potatoes; boil until tender.
- Drain and mash the potatoes; mix in milk and cheese.
- Trim green beans and steam until bright green.
- Serve turkey with sides of mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce.
- Finish the meal with slices of pumpkin pie.
