Ingredients

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until they are thick and pale.
- Add the sugar gradually, mixing well.
- Stir in the milk, cream, vanilla, and nutmeg.
- If desired, add bourbon or rum.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Serve in glasses, garnished with additional nutmeg.
