Description
Traditional Filipino dishes enjoyed during New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg of pork belly
- 1 cup of soy sauce
- 1 cup of vinegar
- 5 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 pack of sticky rice
- 1 can of coconut milk
- 1 cup of grated coconut
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Marinate pork belly in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, and pepper for at least 1 hour.
- In a pot, combine marinated pork and water. Simmer until tender.
- Add sugar and cook until caramelized.
- Prepare sticky rice by washing and soaking it for 30 minutes.
- Combine sticky rice with coconut milk and salt. Cook until rice is tender.
- Serve pork with sticky rice and sprinkle with grated coconut.

- Use fresh ingredients for best flavor.
- Adjust sweetness to your preference.
