Description
A traditional Filipino Thanksgiving meal featuring a variety of dishes that celebrate Filipino culture and flavors.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (10–12 lbs)
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup calamansi juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups long grain rice
- 4 cups water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the turkey in soy sauce, calamansi juice, brown sugar, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper for at least 4 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it with foil.
- Roast the turkey for 2.5 to 3 hours, basting occasionally.
- While the turkey cooks, rinse the rice under cold water.
- In a pot, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil and then simmer until the rice is cooked.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Serve the turkey with rice and enjoy.
Notes
- Adjust the marinating time for more flavor.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey is cooked through.
- Leftover turkey can be used in sandwiches or soups.
