A hearty and comforting ham and beans dish made in a crockpot.
Ingredients

- 1 pound dried navy beans
- 2 cups diced ham
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Rinse and soak the beans overnight.
- Drain the beans and place them in the crockpot.
- Add the diced ham, onion, carrots, and celery.
- Pour in the chicken broth.
- Add garlic powder, black pepper, bay leaf, and salt.
- Stir to combine all ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Remove the bay leaf before serving.

- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Serve with cornbread for a complete meal.
