Healthy air fryer turkey burgers prepared in five different styles.
Ingredients
- Ground turkey: 1 pound
- Breadcrumbs: 1/2 cup
- Egg: 1 large
- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley, chopped: 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns: 4
- Avocado: 1, sliced
- Tomato: 1, sliced
- Lettuce leaves: 4
- Cheese slices (optional): 4
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Mix until well combined but do not overwork the mixture.
- Form mixture into four equal patties.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly brush patties with olive oil.
- Place patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- During the last minute of cooking, add cheese on top if desired to melt.
- Assemble burgers on whole wheat buns with avocado, tomato, lettuce, and additional toppings as desired.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños to the patty mixture.
- Experiment with different herbs like basil or cilantro for varied flavor profiles.
