Description

A rich and hearty homemade bolognese sauce made from ground meat and tomatoes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.
  3. Add ground beef. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve with pasta or use in lasagna.

Notes

  • Allow sauce to simmer longer for a deeper flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
