Description
A rich and hearty homemade bolognese sauce made from ground meat and tomatoes.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.
- Add ground beef. Cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve with pasta or use in lasagna.
Notes
- Allow sauce to simmer longer for a deeper flavor.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- This sauce freezes well.
