Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onions, celery, and carrots. Sauté until soft.
- Stir in garlic powder and thyme. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add flour, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth, ensuring no lumps remain.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add cooked chicken and heavy cream. Stir well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
