Creamy and rich homemade eggnog for the holidays.
Ingredients

- 6 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and frothy.
- Add the sugar and mix until well combined.
- Stir in the milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and nutmeg.
- If desired, add bourbon or rum and mix well.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Serve in glasses and garnish with additional nutmeg.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Adjust sweetness according to your taste.
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or rum.
