A classic homemade eggnog recipe for the holiday season.
Ingredients

- 6 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup bourbon or rum
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and fluffy.
- Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until dissolved.
- Stir in milk and cream until well combined.
- Add bourbon or rum, vanilla extract, and nutmeg.
- Mix thoroughly and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Serve chilled, garnished with additional nutmeg if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the alcohol to taste.
- Can be served with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
