Description

This homemade lasagna is a classic Italian dish made with layers of pasta, cheese, and rich meat sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and pork over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the meat. Stir in marinara sauce.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Layer 4 noodles on top of the sauce.
  8. Spread half the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  9. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  10. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles and meat sauce on top.
  11. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  12. Bake for 45 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  13. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs for a more vibrant flavor.
  • Let the lasagna sit for a while for easier slicing.
  • This dish can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
