This homemade lasagna is a classic Italian dish made with layers of pasta, cheese, and rich meat sauce.

- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and pork over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the meat. Stir in marinara sauce.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer 4 noodles on top of the sauce.
- Spread half the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
- Add a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, finishing with noodles and meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs for a more vibrant flavor.
- Let the lasagna sit for a while for easier slicing.
- This dish can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
