- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 to 3 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in the egg yolk.
- Add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Cut into circles and fit into tartlet pans.
- Prick the bottoms with a fork.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Ensure butter is cold for flaky crust.
- You can use different fillings for tartlets.
