Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add egg, vanilla, almond extract, and salt to the butter mixture.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
- Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball slightly.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are light golden.
- Let cookies cool completely.
- For frosting, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Frost each cookie and add food coloring if desired.

- Use different colors of frosting for holidays.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes for easier handling.
