  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 4 carrots, cut into chunks
  • 4 celery stalks, cut into chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  4. Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and surround it with onions, carrots, and celery.
  6. Pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
  8. Roast for about 3 to 3.5 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  9. Check the internal temperature. It should reach 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
