Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and molasses to the mixture, blending well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for easier handling.
- Roll the dough into balls, then coat them in granulated sugar.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
