- 2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions
- Remove steaks from the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
- Rub both sides of each steak with Montreal steak seasoning.
- Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat until it shimmers.
- Carefully place the steaks in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Flip the steaks and add butter, garlic, and thyme to the skillet.
- Baste the steaks with the melted butter using a spoon for additional flavor.
- Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness, or until desired internal temperature is reached.
